BMW has seen a significant increase in sales in recent months, which is also more and more helped bay constant growth in the sale of electrified models.

The company reached more than quarter million in accumulated sales of electrified vehicles in April and thus achieved an important milestone on the road to electrification. Even more: Combined sales of BMW i, BMW iPerformance and Mini Electric vehicles were up to 52 percent compared to the same month of last year, which was enough for electrified models to exceed 5-percent share in BMW Group car sales. They plan to sell over 140.000 electrified vehicles until the end of this year.

The main models, which contributed to the success, were BMW 5 Series and BMW X5 plug-in hybrids and recently renewed BMW i3 with sportier i3s version, but also the fact, that they started to sell a Chinese plug-in version of the BMW 5 Series at the Chinese market.
