BMW Italia and Garage Italia Customs created a car that combines the icon of future mobility with the Italian art of Giacomo Balla. Replicated on the car is his famous work, "Lampada ad Arco", which the Italian artist and poet, devoted to the Futurist movement, painted in 1911. The original painting today hangs in the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

According to BMW, the painting represents a street lamp powered by electricity under the moonlight - an effect that was created with a revolutionary color technique of the time, when the world began to discover the endless possibilities of electricity. The future technology is also what the painting has in common with the visionary vehicle concepts and technologies of the new BMW i8.
