While launching the new (face-lifted) 3-Series, BMW announced the arrival of a hybrid model 330e from 2016.

BMW 330e will be powered by a 137kW, 2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine and an 80kW electric motor, with total system power of 188kW and 420Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0-100km/h will take just 6.3 seconds with a top speed of 225 km/h.

Full battery charge will suffice for a  35km range, average petrol consumption should not exceed 1.5 litre per 100km with emissions as low as 49 grams CO2 per kilometer.
