According to Autocar, a near production ready three-wheeler Morgan EV3 will be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
Following the Plus E, Morgans first attempt at developing electric vehicles, Morgan EV3 is based on a standard Morgan 3 Wheeler, which was re-introduced back in 2011. Instead of a 2.0-litre V-twin engine in the front, it is equipped with a single 45 kW electric motor, mounted at the rear wheel. The motor draws its power from the Lithium Ion battery pack that allows for approximately 150 milles or 240 kilometers of pure electric drive. It takes about four hours to fully re-charge the batteries.
With the overall weight of 450 kilograms, which is significally less than 525 kilograms of its internal combustion counterpart, the electric three-wheeler should provide for a smooth ride when it goes on sale this summer.
