Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Motors, confirmed via Twitter that the company is planning to launch two new models in the near or far future: a compact and cost friendly SUV Model Y and an electric minibus.

Model Y SUV will probably be inspired by the design of Tesla X, but in favour of lower price it will not have complicated gullwing doors and some other fancy features. And that is about everything, unfortunately, that can be said aboout this car at the moment. Perhaps we can also speculate that it will probably be priced just above the Model 3.

Musk also shared some additional information on the Tesla electric minibus. He stated in his tweets that the new "high passenger density urban transport vehicle" will be based on the Model X chassis. It will apparently have at last eight seats and it is already being created right there on Tesla's drawing board.
