Lucas di Grassi took the win and championship lead in the Mexico City ePrix after an eventful race.

Brazilian started the race in 3rd place, but lost a few spots in first corner to be stuck behind pole-sitter Jerome D'Ambrosio and Renault e.Dams drivers Buemi and Prost. He passed Prost just before pitstops and then D'Ambrosio immediately after them, and was left to control the race with ease.

Behind him, Buemi overtook Prost in pits (Prost was later penalized for an improper release from his pit stop) and the fought with Belgian D'Ambrosio for the second part of the race. They collided but continued and Buemi even overtook D'Ambrosio while cutting the chicane and had to give the place back to Belgian, who managed to hold him off until checkered flag.

Winn for Di Grassi (Abt) and only 3rd place for Buemi means that Swiss driver has lost his championship lead to Brazilian, but only by few points.

Long Beach (SA) will host the next round on April 2nd, and after that Formula E returns to Europe for last 4 rounds in the championship with final round in London on July 2nd.
