The new electric crossover features attractive design with short front section and steep back curve, roomy interior, powerfull electric motors and fast charging of bateries that store enough power for up to 480 kilometers of full-electric drive.
I-Pace has a lot in common with design concept, which we first saw in 2016 Los Angeles car show. It's built on new aluminium architecture, which enables 432 pouch cells of 90 kWh lithium-ion electric battery to be stored under the floor of passanger compartment. Because there's no need of space for big engine, which is replaced with compact electric motor between front wheels, hood can be very short, which contributes to compact dimensions and roomy cabin despite the fact that Jaguar E-Pace ids quite compact 4.682 mm long and 1.595 mm high car.
There's another electric motor on the rear axle, which contributes to all wheel drive, all surface traction and combined power of 400 hp and 696 Nm torque, which enables I-Pace to reach 100 kilometers per hour in just about 4,5 seconds. According to WLTP cycle I-Pace can reach up to 480 kilometers on full charge. Fast charging up to 80 percent capacity takes 85 minutes on 50 kW DC charger, and there's also a posibility of 100 kw charging which halves the charging time. Home charging with 7kW AC box takes about ten hours.
