Instead, they will become a  tier 1 part supplier

The Croatian manufacturer of electric cars, Rimac has with his first two cars (Concept One and his upcoming successor) caused a great deal of excitement to the automotive community. The first of them successfully challanged Bugat Veyron, which further increases expectations before the arrival of the successor. However, although a Croatian entrepreneur is already compared to Elon Musk and the Tesla brand, Mate Rimac claims that he will not set his brand on the same path.
As it is, in a recent interview for Automotive News Rimac revealed the purpose of his company is not and, at least for the foreseeable future, will not be an increase in production capacity, which will definitely amount to less than 100 vehicles per year. He has pointed out that even customers who, in this way, receive a certain amount of exclusivity for millions of Euro retail prices would not want this. This would certainly decrease as production increases.
Instead of car production, the main aim of the company is to become the first name in the manufacturing of components for electric cars by established manufacturers, for which theay are planning to build a factory in which this will be possible. Here, Rimac is relying heavily on the assistance of Porsche and Hyundai, as the German car producer had already become 15,5% owner of the Croatian company, while the Korean company was 1,5% less.
And with Hyundai, Rimac is expected to complete and present the first pair of cars this year. The cars are expected to be revealed until the end of the year. The first of the pair will be powered by fuel cells and the second will be powered by electricity. In this project, Rimac will make the drive train of both vehicles, battery packs and fuel cells. At the same time, he revealed, that a fuel cell-driven car will be designed as a sport car and that he cannot yet reveala price for either one.
