News are circling arround that BMW will increase range and power of its iPerfomance models, with first changes to come next year.

By the second half of next year it is expected for BMW's 740e iPerformance and X5 xDrive40e iPerformance to get successors in the shape of BMW 745e iPerformance and BMW X5 xDrive45e iPerformance. Thanks to new lithium-ion batteries with increased energy density both new models will be able to drive 30 to 35 kilometers solely on electric power, which will double their reach.

BMW's luxury limousine and SUV will not be only cars to gain their reach thanks to more efficient batteries. New batteries will also become part of BMW i8 and i8 Roadster, which is due to have improvements done early next year.
