Nio, the automotive company that's not a start-up really anymore, unveiled their new mass production vehicle in Shanghai. They called it Nio ES8 and noted that it will go into production sometime by the end of the year, for the Chinese market.

Nio ES8 is a 7-seater crossover, an SUV with a 2+3+2 seating arrangement. The car with an all-aluminium body and chassis is 4.978m long and comes with a 2.997m wheelbase. It is equipped with active air suspension and two electric motors, one on each axle, meaning it's an all-wheel drive we can look forward to.

The battery will be a swappable one, so their car will, according to Nio, "provide a charging experience that surpasses refuelling at gas stations." They have also already taken care of the manufacturing and supply chain that will produce the ES8.

Nio is presenting their novelties in Shangahi with astonishing eleven vehicles, including two Nio Formula E race cars; seven Nio EP9s and their vision car EVE and one Nio ES8.

At the Shanghai Auto Show, Nio also announced it will begin pre-selling the second series of its flagship supercar, the Nio EP9. Also, the company plans to produce a second batch of ten EP9s, each priced at 1.48 million USD and available for purchase. The first batch of six EP9s produced were distributed among the investors.
