At the Tokio Motor Show Nissan unveiled a IMx electric crossover concept can fully autonomously drive more then 600 kilometers on one charge.

Nissan IMx is underpinned by the Nissan's new EV platform, which allows the floor to be completely flat. It results in spacious cabin and low ceter of gravity which improves also cars driving dynamics and stability. To put it efficiently on the move concept has two electric motors, one at the front and one at the back, which give it possibility of four wheel drive. Motors produce a combined power of 320 kW and 700 Nm of torque. Electricity is storedin redesigned and re-engineered battery which stores enough energy for more than 600 kilometers of drive, enough for care free trips and also for returning power to the grid if necessary.

Designers of the concept also tried to redefine interiour space which is not so much directed to the inside but more arranged to provide a sense of opennes while maintaining a sense of privacy. They also took inspiration from Japanese concepts of 'ma', which gives the sense of space and time, and 'wa', which means harmony. That way Nissan's conpcept expresses a combination of two seemingly contradictory concepts: stillness and motion.
