FlyKly has just launched its second Kickstarter campaign, this time for Smart Ped, a kick-assisted scooter.

Smart Ped is your perfect urban getaway. This beautifully practical kick assist e-bike is the smartest move around the city whether you're on your way to work traveling distances or combining other means of public transport. Or maybe just cruising around and enjoying the view.

"This ultimate urban ride is as simple as it is fun. One single kick and the new kick-assist system automatically turns on the electric motors and propels you further to extend your ride. The all-in-one electric motor, battery and electronics come from the Smart Wheel concept, all fitted in the rear wheel," said Niko Klanšek, a founder of pedal-assisted electric bicycle wheel FlyKly.

The aluminum housing, consisting of an electro motor, battery set, electronics and forward thinking sensors, is meticulously assembled and crafted into a piece of tech. And then there is the security feature - you can lock your Smart Ped with a touch on the app. This innovative technology will also support the only legal e-kick-bike on the market.

Smart Ped is produced in Milan and follows up on the already tested Smart Wheel concept. "City centers are now closing down for cars and becoming really a pedestrian area. Because of that, more and more people are using scooters to get to work, so we decided to focus on that last mile of the commute."

The scooter weight 11 kilos and it's very portable. You can bring it to the train, the office, the post office. It can go everywhere with you. And also it can be folded. This project will only be funded if at least €100,000 is pledged by November 26. You can support it here.
