If this piece of news is real and the new Tesla Model S comes equipped with a 100 KWh battery as the car's name suggests, then Tesla S would in fact become even stronger than the currently most powerful model P90D, with a quite possible 0-100 km/h time of around 2.7 seconds and a range of over 530 kilometers on a single full charge.
To make things more simple, Tesla S models with 85 kWh batteries were recently removed from the company's available line-up, as they became rather unappealing to customers after the 90 kWh model was introduced to the market.
In some places, for example in the UK, even the rear-wheel drive 90 kWh model was 'set aside', so the current Model S range at the moment consists of the 70 kWh model (rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive) and the more powerful 90kWh model (all-wheel drive) in either standard or Performance (P90D) version.
