Information was revealed on Twitter by Elon Musk himself.

First generation of Tesla Spyder was THE car that put young American company on the map of car manufacturers. While on the outside it basically looked like a severely modified Lotus Elise (on which it was based), it had little in common with the original car. Nevertheless it made some impact, as being the first production car,(in theory) capable of doing over 300 kilometers on a single charge – number, a lot of manufacturers were struggling to reach even years after. Its successor is now ready to repeat the same thing once again.

In fact, second generation of Tesla Roadster, which is due to come on the market sometime next year might become the first production car, to surpass the magic number of 1.000 kilometers of reach on a single charge. While such numbers on the first glance seems to be unreachable, already mentioned first generation reminds us, we should believe Elon Musk, when he promises such data. And the latest information was revealed by him in his usual manner: via Twitter.

As mentioned, next generation of Tesla Roadster should hit the streets sometime next year and is promising quite an excitement. When acceleration with pedal to the metal, it may hit the 100 kilometers per hour under two seconds, making it also one of the fastest accelerating cars in the world. Tesla is already accepting first orders for the car, which in limited edition called Founder’s series is reportedly going to cost quarter of a million dollars or somewhere around 225.000 euros.
