A renewed hybrid powertrain will now be available both in the estate and sedan versions. It remains a hybrid powertrain without a possibility of plug-in charging, which means that a battery pack with a capacity of 1.4 kilowatt hours is charged exclusively via the braking energy recuperation. The basis of powertrain remains a 2 liter gasoline engine.
Ford claims that the system is able to recapture up to 90 percent of all braking energy that would otherwise go to the waste, resulting in low consumption, which should be between 4.2 and 4.4 liters for a two-liter petrol engine ( depending on the bodywork version), and CO2 emissions should range around 100 grams per kilometer.
