If statistics are anything to go by, the number of electric and plug-in vehicles in Europe is on the rise!

In July this year there were 10,042 registered vehicles in the entire European Union area, which is 83 percent more than in July the previous year. As it appears, Volkswagen Golf GTE and Audi A3 e-Tron did a lot to contribute to such premium numbers.

Germany

The sales went up by 83 percent. Volkswagen's 'cousins' Audi A3 e-TRon and Volkswagen Golf GTE lead the way, but the latter one shares its second place, surprisingly, with Kia Soul EV.

Great Britain

The British market seems to be under the influence of the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, having the Japanese SUV dominating an astonishing half of entire sales numbers.

France

The French market for electric and plug-in vehicles went up by 82 percent. As expected, Renault Zoe and Nissan Leaf take the top two spots, however Volkswagen Golf GTE also boasts with a significant share of buyers.

Norway

Norway opted for Volkswagen. The incredibly successful e-Golf was joined by the equally well-accepted Golf GTE, with both of them posing serious competition to (until recently in the lead) Nissan Leaf.
