BMW began producing its electric car there in 2013 and the production by now reached just over 120 cars per day. At aproximately the same time BMW near Leipzig also oficially opened a Battery Storage Farm, which will at the end have 700 BMW i3's batteries connected in one big storage facility.

BMW i3 is BMW's most sold electric car, but is not the only one. There is also a range extended electric sports car i8, which will get a company in the shape of i8 Roadster next year and we can expect at least one new model in near future.
