It may seem almost unbelievable, but some taxi-version of a hybrid Toyota Prius clocked 1,000,000 kilometers. Yes, that's right. One car. 1 million kilometers. And it still works.

A Viennese taxi company called ''EcoTaxi" has a fleet of about 200 hybrid Toyotas as it strives for environmentally friendly technology and extreme durability. Among these cars there is also a rather special hybrid Toyota Prius, driven by Manfred Dvorak, who claims his car hit the astonishing 999.999 kilometers mark earlier this year. According to Dvorak, his Prius taxi still pumps energy from the original battery pack and never broke down, since it first came into service in 2007.
