"Symbiosis is the goal," they say at Stefano Boeri Architetti.
Based in Milan, Stefano Boeri Architetti is an architecture studio committed to the research and practice of contemporary architecture and urbanism, in a national as well as international environment. The world noticed them first when they created the award-winning Bosco Verticale ("vertical forest") in Milan, Italy. After that, they introduced us to "The Tower of the Cedars" in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Now there will be another green building on the other side of the world.
The studio took on a task to design a project located in the 10 thousand peaks area in the Wanfeng Valley, in Guizhou, China, which has also been named one of the "52 Places to go in 2016" by the New York Times.
Designed for the Hong Kong based Cachet Hotel Group, the environmentally friendly building is set to span over 31.200 sqare meters, offering 250 rooms with interior design created in collaboration with the local artist Simon Ma. The concept of the mountain hotel was inspired by "the unique natural scenery of the 10 thousands peaks valley, its original topography and ecosystem."
It is said that the hotel will be so 'green' that it will literally improve the air around the building, as it will be covered from top to the bottom with greenery, trees and shrubs.
On top of cooling in the shadows of the trees, growing on the balconies, guests of the new hotel will be able to enjoy the gym, relax in a lounge or a vip area, have a drink at the bar, eat in a stylish restaurant and more.
