9 ¾ Bookstore + Café by Plasma Nodo is located in Medellín, Colombia. It cleary is so much more than 'just' a bookstore. For one thing, it's a children's bookstore and is as such full of life and numerous creative, playful solutions, which the little ones can explore. It is also a Café, so parents can hang out and equally enjoy the picturesque bookworm haven. It's where families go to play, read and socialize. And it's absolutely perfect.

The architectural studio Plasma Nodo created a fun and modern fairytale space that stretches over 120 square meters. What one notices first is that wood is the predominant element, which you can see in a variety of colours and shapes. Everything inside screams with creativity - from the framed portraits, the many colourful lamps, hanging from the wall, to the comfy seats and chairs - all of them of various shapes and sizes. Children can climb up into hexagonal nooks and read their books, or just draw or rest. There is even a whole array of sweets available to make the whole afternoon experience even more magical and sweet.

"We believe in the imagination, in magic, in dreams, in memories. We believe the best ideas and the best discussions take place over a good cup of coffee. We know technology can be a magic wand for going into unimaginable worlds. But we are aware that it will never take the place of the king: the book," the architects explained.

And we do, very much so, wholeheartedly agree.
