Not a first two-wheeled skateboard, but it surely is the first to add the electric motor to spice things up a bit. Yiimix from China created a superlight, 6kg commuter for everyday use. But being so light isn't its only appeal - passionate skateboarders will also appreciate the fact that Yiiboard turns sharper than any other electric skateboard - as creators assure us.
Yiiboard was tested on various surfaces and it seems that it can easily conquer hard surface, grass, ramp, sand gravel, low steps, and even groovy roads. The 400W 5-inch wheel hub motor is powered by a high performance Panasonic lithium-ion rechargeable battery that can be charged up to 1000 times. Carrying a load of up to 150 kilograms, its top speed is reached at 19 kph, while making 29 kilometers per single charge (charging usually takes from 3 to 4 hours).
LED front and rear lights accompanied by the logo light make sure the rider can safely enjoy riding in the daytime or nighttime. There is also a remote control that allows the user to start, accelerate and brake; on top of that, it also notifies the user when the battery is in dire need of recharging.
If you wish to own one, head over to Indiegogo - super early birds can pre-order their 2-wheeled rides for $359.
