A few years ago estudimoline, a design studio from Barcelona, developed the Bios Urn - a 100% biodegradable urn designed to turn your cremated earthly remains into a tree after you kick the bucket. This is what it looks like:

The team is now back with Bios Incube, an app-controlled tree incubator that will help you keep your loved ones close by. Bios Incube is made to work by itself, so it will even water the plant for you.

The only thing you need to do is plant the Bios Urn inside of the Bios Incube, which is very simple, and place the sensor on the surface of the soil, over the Bios urn. The sensor then monitors and waters your tree from a water tank that is placed inside the Bios Incube and has a capacity of around 11 liters (sufficient "to nourish your seed or tree for an average of twenty days").

The last thing left to do is sync the sensor to your mobile app, so the data from the sensor can be sent directly to your phone via WiFi. This way you will be able to monitor light levels, the condition of the soil and soil conductivity, air temperature and humidity, as well as the status of the seed. According to all the parameters, your urn will be automatically watered to secure optimal growth.

Once your tree is grown enough, you can transplant it outdoors, and use the Incube to grow another one.

Developers are raising funds with a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter - currently, they have 155 backers with over 40,000 € pledged and 21 days to go.
