Summer is the perfect time to enjoy a music festival and also this year Europe offers literally thousands of opportunities to go and see one. See a selection of Europe's finest, last year's winners of the European Festival Awards.

Since 2009 the European Festival Awards event has been an opportunity to recognise the hard work, vision and creativity of the festival industry, which includes festivals, artists and promoters, through fan voting and judging panels made up of experts. Last year alone 1,2 million festival-goers and music lovers cast their vote.

And the winners were...

Best Small Festival

Tauron Nowa Muzyka (Katowice, Poland). Festival offers the best artists from the world of jazz, nu-jazz, electronics and dance music. This year's Tauron Nowa Muzyka will take place between 20-23 August 2015 on the New Silesian Museum Grounds in Katowice, Poland.

Line-up: Autechre, Dopplereffekt, Jamie Woon, Tyler The Creator, Kiasmos, Vessels, Objekt, Ghostpoet, Portico, Gatima & The Eglo Live Band, Kwabs.

Sea Dance Festival (Budva, Montenegro) is actually part of the EXIT festival and will start pumping up the volume on 15 July this year. We love the premises - the famous Jaz beach!

And the winner in big festival cathegory

Line-up: Kings of Leon, Robbie Williams, Florence & The Machine, Ellie Goulding, Nervo, Awolnation, Interpol, Selah Sue, Future Islands, Avicii, Jungle, Yellow Claw, Babylon Circus, Kensington, Laura Jones, Alt-J, Gogol Bordello, Tyler The Creator, Cro, Jaguar skills, Typhoon, Halestorm, Antwerp Gipsy-Ska Orchestra, Dakhabrakha, Foals, Ella Eyre, Beatsteaks, Goran Bregovic, Limp Bizkit, Sigma, Panonia Allstars Ska Orchestra...

There will be also some summer concerts that you shouldn't miss:

4 August, Damien Rice, Berlin, Tempodrom

When Damien Rice presented his new album „My Favourite Faded Fantasy" at an exclusive concert in Berlin last year, there were as many happy as heartbroken fans. The border between these two camps was pretty much on the fact whether they had gotten a ticket or not. Now, you have a chance.

13 July, Roxette, London, O2 Arena

10 September, Florence And The Machine, Dublin, 3Arena
