The World Architecture Festival (WAF) has announced this year's nominees. Among them is the project Vommuli Eco Awareness Resort.
The WAF, which will take place in Singapore from 4th to 6th of November this year, has nominated 338 buildings for the most interesting new building in the world. On this list of the best you can find cultural and educational institutions, churches, hotels, and schools, with a special focus on the buildings of the future, of which there are 33 on the list.
Among others in the category of the best buildings of the future is the project Vommuli Eco Awareness Resort in the Maldives, the product of the WOW Architects. The luxurious eco complex will be built on the private island of Dhaalu Atoll, a mere 40 minutes from the airport. It will be made exclusively from enviromentally friendly materials with the minimum enviromental impact in mind. They are also promising not to intrude in the Maldives ecosystem too much with the construction.
If you're curious whether they will receive the award, you can be one of the first to find out at the gala event in Singapore, where this year's award ceremony will be taking place. The prices start at 1,000 dollars and the dinner will cost you another 275. Interested?
