'Sport utility truck', as introduced by Bollinger, will have an all-aluminum chassis with a high-strength, low-alloy (HSLA) steel rollover structure. With a wheelbase of 2.667 millimeters, it will also have an approach angle of 56 degrees and departure angle of 53 degrees. The base ride height provides for 40 centimeters of ground clearance, however it will be adjustable using a self-leveling, 4-wheel independent, hydro-pneumatic suspension within the 10 inches of wheel travel.
The battery storage system will be housed in the area between the chassis rails, below the driver and passenger, while the high voltage electronics will be located in the center of the chassis below the floor level. This way, the vehicle will have a very low center of gravity – something that is bound to help make the vehicle more stable. Another thing adding to great performance on or off the road will be the Mud Terrain LT285/70/R17 tires with high offset aluminum wheels.
Of course, the upcoming truck will boast an all-wheel-drive system and an all-electric powertrain.
