It will arrive on the market in early 2020.

Audi e-tron has one year ago became Audi’s first fully electric automobile and also one of the first all-electric premium SUVs on the market. However, while it is premium, it is quite expensive, reaching well above 50.000 euros and even closing to 100.000 euros. That is why Audi has decided to add a new member to the one and only member of e-tron family (e-tron 55 quattro), the e-tron 50 quattro. So, what does this scale-down version has to offer.

Well, on the outside, both of them are all in all the same with the badge signifying the model being the only thing differing one from another. It is the power train and the battery pack that most of the changes are referred to. Put it simple, everything is smaller, lighter and offers less potential, than with the 55 version.

For instance, instead of regular 95 kWh battery pack, the brand new version now offers one with the capacity of ‘only’ 71 kWh. Nevertheless, that will still bring one around 300 kilometers away, which is enough for all daily needs and even for longer runs, considering the fact that e-tron 50 can be plugged on a high-speed, 120-kilowatt DC chargers. In fact, it will need only around half an hour for a car to be charged up to 80 percent.

Still, there will be two electric motors with a combined power output of 230 kilowatts. This will bring the car to 100 kilometers per hour in seven seconds flat, will the top speed is going to be electronically limited 190 kilometers per hour. And if you are interested in buying one, while the prices are yet to be revealed , it is known that production is going to start later this year, while the first vehicles are to be delivered to customers in the early 2020.
