The open-top two-seater roadster i8 is said to be built under the codename I15 and it's - loving the sporty attitude already as it is - rumored have even more emotionally appeal and dynamic capability added to the blend. It is expected to become the rival of Tesla Roadster, which is to be introduced by the American electric car brand sometime in 2020.

According to BMWBLOG, Roadster will be equipped with the same plug-in hybrid powertrain as the BMW i8, but it's likely to get a bigger battery pack and more power. The more powerful electric motor in combination with the 1.5 liter three-cylinder petrol unit would develop about 420 hp.
