Electric and electrified cars are, among other reasons, compared to ICE-driven ones also superior when it comes to costs of fuel. Charging a car with enough electricity for i.e. 100 kilometers is just so much cheaper, than filling it with petrol or diesel. Yet, for few British buyers of Volvos in particular, charging their cars with electricity will become even cheaper. At least for a year that is.

The reason for this is simple. In order to popularise electridfied cars and further reduce the amount of CO2 and other harmfull gases, Volvo decided to award buyers with an interesting, yet quite welcome award. From the beginning of November 2019 up until the last day of June 2020, every buyer, who decides to by a plg-in hybrid car will be avarded with 12 months of free electricity. This means, that after one year of ownership, every buyer will get repaid all the electrticity, that he used in that given time.

Kristian Elvefors, Volvo Car UK Managing Director, said: “At Volvo, in keeping with our Swedish roots, we’ve always taken a keen interest in looking after the environment. Our recently stated ambition to become a carbon-neutral company by 2040 shows we are serious about addressing climate change. It’s crucial that we help our plug-in hybrid customers understand how they can make the most of their car’s electric potential. So, by meeting their electricity charging costs for a year, we can encourage them to develop the good habit of regularly recharging their car’s battery, as well as saving them money at the same time.”
