Last November Chevrolet announced an electrified version of its 2019 COPO Camaro, which some days ago also participated in its first quarter-mile drag race.

Chevrolet eCOPO Camaro used just 80% of its power to reach 60 miles in 1.30 seconds and finished quarter-mile at the speed of 130.85 MPH 10.142 seconds after start. But it is just the beginning of Chevrolet's trials, because in November at SEMA show they promised, that eCOPO Camaro will manage quarter-mile in just 9 seconds.

Let's repeat some basic facts about the Chevrolet eCOPO Camaro. It is driven by two electric motors with a system power of 550 kW and 813 NM of torque, which are connected to a rear axle via conventional racing-prepared Turbo 400 automatic transmission.

Electricity is stored in a 32 kWh battery pack and the system works with 800 V voltage for more efficient power transfer to an electric motor and faster recharging.
