DS 4 Crossback was already a crossover, however DS 7 Crossback now is even more terrain focused than it predecessor. It will be available with a choice of five powerful, highly-efficient, high-torque internal combustion engines: three petrol power units (THP ranging from 130 to 225) and two Diesel units (BlueHDi 130 S&S and the BlueHDi 180 EAT8). Apart from the standard petrol engine, all other variants will work combined with EAT8, the new-generation 8-speed Efficient AutomaticTransmission.

Next to conventional powertrain technology, DS 7 Crossback will also be available with plug-in hybrid petrol powertrain, following the latest DS Automobiles trends that see every upcoming model equipped with a hybrid or electric drivetrain E-tense.

DS 7 Crossback E-Tense is expected to become available in spring 2019, featuring a 300hp powertrain that consists of 200hp petrol engine, the automatic electric gearbox and two electric motors with total output of 90kW combined. The lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 13kW/h and output of 90kW, will deliver a range of up to 60 kilometers in all-electric mode. In standard mode, charging takes 4½hours. In fast mode, it can take less than 2½hours, with a 6.6kW charger plugged into a 32A socket.

With DS 7 Crossback, the french brand is also debuting many modern technologies, such as DS connected pilot (to delegate driving and also to take back control at any time), DS park pilot for easy parking (automates the parking function for automatic parking), DS driver attention assist to identify signs of inattention and fatigue, DS night vision to ensure better visibility at night (making the road easier to see over a distance of up to 100m), DS active led vision, DS active scan suspension that identifies and anticipates the forthcoming surface undulations, like bumps and dips in the road, and last but not least – infotainment system featuring 14 focal electra® hi-fi system speakers and two 12-inch screens for the navigation system, multimedia interface, ds connectivity and digital instrument cluster.
