We will only have to wait a little bit more, until the beginning of the North American Auto Show in Detroit, where Volkswagen is set to present its new concept. First details you can already see on photographs.

The new Volkswagen's minibus will certainly not have a smoky petrol engine like his vintage predecessor, but will instead feature pure electric drive with two electric motors, one for each axle, and therefore also a kind of four wheel drive. It will be based on Volkswagen's modular platform for electric cars MEB.

With the electric minubus concept, continuation of the I.D. direction, first shown in Paris last fall, Volkswagen will also take care for the emotional aspect of car. It will also be able to drive completely autonomous. In that case laser scaners, ultrasound and radar sensors, video cameras and other electronics will take care for the drive and driver will be able to devote his time to more leasurous activity together with other passengers, perhaps even in the spirit of 'flower power'.
