"Model 3 passed all regulatory requirements for production two weeks ahead of schedule. Expecting to complete SN1 on Friday."

Tesla CEO Elon Musk broke the news on Twitter on Sunday, informing Tesla fans that Model 3 is arriving ahead of schedule. He added: "Handover party for first 30 customer Model 3's on the 28th! Production grows exponentially, so Aug should be 100 cars and Sept above 1500."

Tesla's Model 3 is a premium sedan, yet the most affordable, real consumer Tesla car to date, starting at only $35,000 before incentives. With 215 miles of range per charge, this car should do away with the usual anxiety potential buyers of electric cars often have. Model 3 will be equipped with Tesla's autopilot system, offer supercharging, and have enough room for five adults to travel in a vey comfortable style.

Musk expects Tesla company to reach production numbers of 20,000 Model 3 units per month in December, with production increasing in 2018.
