Buemi stamped his authority on the race shortly after star, when he overtook pole-sitter and race leader Vergne. The race behind him was full of flying parts, and a lot of drivers had to change front wings. One of them was Sam Bird, who lost all chances of getting points in Berlin. His teammate Vergne almost had to do the same after hitting chicane twice and tearing front wing off, but luckily for him he did it just before car change.

Buemi was left with a almost 10 seconds lead after the change, while champisonship leader Lucas di Grassi, was fighting with his teammate Nico Prost, and managed to overtake him for fourth place 10 laps before the end. After Duval's crash brought out safety car 4 laps latter di Grassi had a chance to overtake his teammate Daniel Abt for second place, but Abt refused to let teammate fighting for the championship by and di Grassi almost lost his championship lead to Buemi.

As the Moscow race was cancelled that means that championship will be decided on last racing weekend in London on July 2nd and 3rd, and di Grassi has a single point lead in the championship over Buemi, while 3rd placed Bird cannot catch the leaders.
