He was again fastest in qualifying an leading comfortably form Buemi when his team's mistake during pitstops when they failed to leave enough space between him and his teammate cost him a 10 second penalty for unsafe release – and the victory. Rosenquvist crossed the line at the finish first, but Buemi was a few seconds behind and thus took the victory. His closest rival for the championship Lucas di Grassi managed to climb to third place from sixth on the grid, but the difference to first place in championship grew back to 32 points. Formula E championship now moves across the Atlantic, where it will finish with two double-header weekends in New York (July 15th & 16th) and Montreal (July 29th & 30th).
