150 light-duty trucks has managed to pass them in just two years of operations.

Providing enough range an consequently daily usability to cars is one thing (which car manufacturers are facing with quite successfully). Developing an electric truck is thus even more challenging, considering the weight such vehicle has to carry. Range of such vehicles are thus still quite small, but is starting to grow to numbers providing daily (limited) usability. Among those are such companies is, for instance Man, but also Daimler Japanese partner Fuso, which just passed an important milestone.

Fuso's e-canter is world's first small production, all electric, light-duty truck, that managed to get in to small-series production. 150 of them has been built (so far) and are being used around the world in cities like New York, Tokyo, Berlin, London, Amsterdam, Paris and Lisbon. They provide around 100 kilometers of reach and can carry 7,49 tonne of cargo-including its own weight that is, which is enough for all inner-city delivers. And so far, there has been quite a lot of them, as all the truck have now managed to pass one million cumulative emission-less kilometers.

Hartmut Schick, President & CEO at Mitsubishi Fuso truck & Bus Corporation and Head of Daimler Trucks Asia: "With more than one million kilometres driven in daily operations in seven cities on three continents, our E-canter has proven its reliability and series production capability. At the same time, we are obtaining valuable information for the development of the next generation. FUSO thus continues to underscore its pioneering role in the field of electric-powered commercial vehicles."
