The Infiniti Q50 Hybrid is equipped with the Infiniti or Nissan Direct Response Hybrid drive, combining a 225 kW 3.5-litre V6 engine with a 50 kW electric motor powered by compact lithium-ion batteries.

Infiniti says that the drive train is designed mainly for good performance without neglecting fuel consumption and enviromental friendliness. In particular, the automobile utilises the electric motor's instant torque for powerful initial acceleration.
