It might get a similar treatment as well accepted, petrol driven i30N.

Hyundai has in the last few months started developing and spreading their new line of high-performance cars, the N-division. So far, European buyers got i30 N hatchback with fastback already on the way, whereas USA-buyers got sportier-looking Veloster N. Now it looks like, drivers and fans of electric cars are in for a treat, as Hyundai is thinking about making their first electric performance car, Ioniq N.

According to Automotive News, Hyundai is already preparing to reveal the fourth member of N-family, which should be an SUV. However, an SUV with N-treatment – according to Auto Express Kona is most likely candidate for the procedure – might just be delayed a bit, all in favor of Ioniq N, as Albertom Biermannom, head of Hyundai’s N division, has revealed it.

"There's a car within the next two or three months that we probably have a chance to show to Vice Chairman Chung [Eui-sun] and our top management. Depending on what is the current mood and situation, we might get a spontaneous 'OK, go for it.'," said Biermann recently. He also pointed out, that after 2021 it is going to be difficult to have a performance branch without an electric car to offer. The question thus, when talking about Ioniq N is not ‘if’ but ‘when’.
