In the beginning of the year, Infiniti announced that, starting in 2021, it will begin electrifying its model range with battery and hybrid electric cars. The first proof of its intention is coming in the shape of electric crossover concept, which will be shown in Detroit in January.

“The concept car we will show in Detroit is the beginning of a new era for INFINITI, and an illustration of where we want to go with the brand. Electrification and other new technologies have given us the opportunity to evolve our design philosophy,” says Infiniti's chief designer Karim Habib.

The futuristic design language was already announced by the Q Inspiration concept, which we could see last winter in Detroit, and the Prototype 10 concept, presented by Infiniti at the Pebble Beach, but now their elements will merge into, as they say, their most clear electric vision for the future.

The arrival of electric platforms has also enabled a fresh approach to the exterior and interior designs of crossovers and saloons. In addition to the new dimensions of the exterior, the electric platforms also allowed a different arrangement of the interior, which became spacious and more similar to comfortable lodges than traditional car passenger cabins, while also allowing optimal use of new infotainment technologies.
