According to Jeep, after 2020 their smallest model Renegade will be available with a plug-in hybrid powertrain combining gasoline engine and an electric motor.

Its system power and type of internal combustion engine are not yet known, but it is certain, that the production a newcomer will be produced by the Melfi factory in Italy, where also Renegade is produced in addition to the Fiat 500X. The total investment is worth 200 million euros.

Plug-in hybrid Renegade will be a very important vehicle for the FCA Group in Europe, as it will be the Group's first hybrid car on the old continent. But plans for the future are, on the other hand, quite ambitious, as the Group intends to introduce a total of 12 different electrified powertrains by 2022, from light hybrids to electric cars, which will be available in a total of 30 different models.
