Similarly to the company's Bavarian rival BMW, Mercedes-Benz in Stuttgart is also developing a special sub brand, created specifically for its plug-in and electric vehicles. It is called EQ Power.

According to Auto Express, plug-in hybrids from Stuttgart will be sold under the EQ Power brand beginning this summer, while plug-in hybrids and hybrids from the AMG performance division will carry the sub brand EQ Power +. The same designation is also used on Mercedes-AMG F1 W08 EQ Power+, this year's t F1 challenger.

Mercedes-Benz is also working on a mid-sized crossover, the brand's first long-range, pure electric SUV, which is expected to launch in 2019. Furthermore, at least 10 BEVs are to carry the EQ Power designation by 2025.
