This year Mitsubishi is celebrating its centenial and this is oportunity to resurect its first model, Mitsubishi Model A from 1917, but in special manner with very modern powetrain.

A centenial Model A, which will be built by the West Coast Customs company in Burbank California, will feature a replica of the original Model A body and a plug-in powertrain from Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. It will be completed this summer. Its construction will also be featured in one of the episodes of Inside West Coast Customs show on the Velocity network.

With centenial replica Mitsubishi wants to simbolicly join two far extreemes of its history. On one side there was its first car, Model A, which in 1917 was built in just 22 peaces and became Japan's first mass produced vehivđcle. It featured an inline four cilindre petrol engine, which produced 35 hp. On the other side of Mitsubishi's timeline is a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV with highly efficient 2,0-liter petrol engine, two efficient electric motors and all technology that goes with it of course.
