Formula E is coming to France.

So, the French capital will become the Formula E host city and join the likes of Beijing, London, Buenos Aires, Berlin, Moscow and other outstanding venues of the ePrix around the world. As it is custom, Electric Formula will design a temporary racing track at a very prominent location - it will be built around the architectural complex of the historic Les Invalides.

Formula E CEO Alejandro Agag told the press that staging this race in the heart of Paris is "undoubtedly a landmark in the development and an important step towards the globalisation of the series". He also added that "the splendid setting of Les Invalides will deliver a unique and futuristic spectacle in an historic venue, making this French leg a real highlight of the championship."

The Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, who is an avid supporter of electrically powered mobility, said: "Paris supports this championship for Formula E cars, because it is a fantastic accelerator for innovation in the field of electric mobility and its promotion in our towns."

The seventh race of the chamipionship and the first European round of the 2015/16 season will take part on April 23.
