New look is to be revealed in the next two weeks

Peugeot is becoming more and more involved in the field of electric cars. They have made a giant step forward last year at Paris car show, where a spectacular electric concept, the e-Legend came to see the light of day for the first time along with a series of more conventional model like the new 508 (sedan and SW version) and 3008, which all got hybrid powertrains with a capability of driving for 50 kilometers on a single charge of electricity alone.

While there is no new electric (or electrified) model on the horizon – apart from the upcoming 208, for which it is known it is going to be offered as a fully electric car, once it hits the market later this year – Peugeot is thinking hard on electric future. In fact, they have now announced that their new logo for electrified cars is going to be the lion, which debuted at last year’s Geneva show. Also, ‘Motion & Emotion’ Moto, that debuted in 2010 has been changed to ‘Motion & e-Motion’.

David Peel, Managing Director of PEUGEOT UK said: “The ‘MOTION & e-MOTION’ signature we are rolling out really encapsulates our vision for what we want the brand to stand for. Adapting the signature, we have been using for almost a decade demonstrates how we are a brand that is sticking to principle qualities PEUGEOT is known for, while evolving to fit with an electric future.

Since mentioned lion has made a debut last year at Geneva car show, it is only appropriate, that it makes this year’s debut at the same place. Peugeot ha thus decided to reveal the new look in a bit more than a month on this year’s car show in Swiss’ capital city.
