Renault and the city of Paris will launch a new mobility service with electric vehicles in the French capital city this September, which will serve to promote electric vehicles and to substantially reduce the amount of exhaust gases.

The plan predicts short- middle- and long-term measures in the introduction of electric vehicles in the city and will also serve as a platform to develop a net of electric, connected and autonomous cars in the future . The first part of service will involve mobility service with driver "Marcel", which will around the clock be available to order or reserve. The second part will be car sharing and the third will be rental cars for longer journeys, which will be available at certain stations in the city.

By 2019 there will be a total of 2.000 Renault electric vehicles available around Paris, which will involve Renaults Twizzy and Zoe for personal use as well as Kangoo Z.E. and Master Z.E. for transport of larger groups.

There will also be a second phase of the project, in which Renault and Paris will form a working group, which in collaboration with similar groups from other cities will research means of sustainable mobility in urban spaces.
