Croatian car maker Rimac is after a few years of hard work and two small scale production of Supersport electric cars is finally starting to pay off. Today the news of a new partnership between the companies Rimac and Korean car gigantom Hyundai has emerged with both side starting to develop next generation of high performance electric cars.
The agreement adopted today therefore foresees an investment of EUR 80 million, with EUR 64 million falling on the shoulders of Hyundai, and the contribution of the Kia, on the other hand, of 16 million. Together, both sides were to develop the concept of a brand-new electric car and the concept of fuel cell car, which Hyundai would then place in a growing family of N sports vehicles.
“Rimac is an innovative company with outstanding capabilities in high-performance electric vehicles,” said Euisun Chung, Executive Vice Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group. “Its startup roots and abundant experience collaborating with automakers combined with technological prowess makes Rimac the ideal partner for us. We look forward to collaborating with Rimac on our road to Clean Mobility.”
Rimac is not, as I said, a rookie when it comes to working with other brands. Recently they both participated in the development of Pininfarine Battista, has for a long time but engage with birtanskim Aston Martin. Hyundai, on the other hand, has already had a positive public response with a series of N families, which makes it seem that new cooperation will certainly bear rich and sweet fruit.
