Roborace took the vehicle to its limits as a part of performance tests.

We must admit we are somewhat interested in Roborace. For those of you, who do not know what we are talking about, first a quick explanation. It is a world’s first competition for humans and robots that is yet to become active. Teams will be using so-called Robocars, vehicles such has been seen this year on Goodwood’s hill climb. Now, they are continuing with their tests, the latest one being a try to achieve vehicle’s top speed.

“Calculated performance is one thing, testing the physical limitations of new technology in the real world is another. Recently, the Roborace team decided to find out just how fast its autonomous racecar could go in a straight line. Robocar has the power, the aerodynamics, and it certainly looks fast, but how does that translate on a test track when there is nothing but raw computing power keeping it all together at the very limits of performance? Let us find out,” says under the official video of the try on Youtube.

Well, they did find out. The first part of finding the limits of the car was consisted of finding car’s top speed and machine proved to be quite fast. Top speed of the car is just shy of 300 kilometers per hours, since it reached 299,61 kilometers per hour. This is even faster than Formula E and giving these results we cannot wait to see the results of further tests.
