In a demanding race at Putrajaya,  Lucas di Grassi claimed victory for himself and his Abt Schaeffler Audi Sport team.

After the troubles, Buemi and Prost had with their Reanult e-Dams cars, di Grassi moved to the lead. Later in the race Da Costa and Duval found their way by the Prost and Duval started to close the gap between him and di Grassi. It seemed that di Grassi could loose first place but then a bit of luck struck in and the damper of Duval's car broke, so di Grassi eventually collected the win.

After the race he said: "It was an extremely tough race, mainly determined by battery temperature, which is the same problem that we had last year. But gladly we managed it better than the others and we did a fantastic job. The team in the background did a perfect job with the strategy and we managed to claim the victory and I'm now the leader in the championship."

With a lot of luck the second place was assured for Andretti's Robin Frijns. After overtaking hobbled Duval he crashed into the wall and damaged his suspension and steering. Despite serious damage Frijns managed to keep the direction and secured himself in the second place. After the race he said: "It was quite a big hit and the rear was completely bent, the steering was totally not straight any more. Right corners were fine but in left corners I really had to take it easy. But I'm surprised how strong the Formula E car is."

Despite the broken suspension Duval managed to secure himself the third place and his first Formula E podium. Sarrazin came through to fourth and Bruno Senna was fitfth. Da Costa came sixth over the finish line and Daniel Abt secured himself the seventh place.
