German car manufacturer to step in the series in the 2019/2020 season.

It has been a while since Porsche has announced that it is going to become the next team in more and more popular series of Formula E. After all, it is going to join the series in the same time as Mercedes-Benz with the announcement being made late last year. With one of two drivers, that is going to be in the crew for the next season Neel Jani, along with development driver, Brendon Hartley, the team has last week done some quite extensive testing.

After presenting the car in March, team has now taken the car to Near L'Ametlla de Mar on a local race track. 3.250 meters long racetrack has been their second home for the last days, when they have covered over a 1.000 kilometers between both drivers. And the first impressions regarding the car are quite good.

Neel Jani : “I feel the tests with the Porsche Formula E car at Calafat were very positive. It is hugely important to get as many kilometres as possible under our belt during the test phase for our Formula E race car and, in doing so, to gain valuable experience – particularly from a technical point of view. They have been very productive days. I am now looking forward to working with the team over the coming months, as we strive to get the very best out of the Porsche Formula E race car.”
