Toyota intends to explore hydrogen fuel cell technology, which is to give power to heavy-duty and semi-trailer trucks on their long-distance trips.

According to Toyota, they have long been considering the possibility of applying hydrogen fuel cell technology as a zero-emission solution across a broad spectrum of vehicle types, including a potential zero-emission freight transportation. The scalability of this technology is enabling the automaker to explore a semi-trailer truck application for a feasibility study that will take place in California.

Additional details have not yet been revelaed, but Toyota assures us that more information on the matter will be available in the coming months.
