After the short overture as Nissan Scoot Quad in San Francisco, the all-electric Renault Twizy without "a disguise" will be available in North America this summer. Not in the US, though, but in its northern neighbour, Canada.

Renault managed to obtain certification by Transport Canada for its all-electric quadricycle Twizy that will soon be released in its new market. Unfortunately, the certification does not allow for more powerfull Twizy 80, which can travel up to 80 kilometers per hour, but rather for its lower specified sibling Twizy 40, that can reach top speed of 40 kilometers per hour (25 mph) and fits in the Canadian category of low speed vehicles with the top speed 32 to 40 kilometers per hour.

The Canadian Twizzies will be equiped with the type-1 charging cable and will be from this summer onwards available through the AZRA Canada network that later also plans to introduce a limited number of Kangoo Z.E. vans.
